JELD-WEN is a brand family rather than one universal frame construction. Its current window catalog lists Builders Vinyl (V-2500), Premium Vinyl (V-4500), Siteline clad-wood, EpicVue clad-wood, custom wood, and additional lines whose availability can vary. The Builders V-2500 page describes high-quality extruded vinyl, a narrow frame and sash profile, minimal maintenance, and both new-construction and replacement applications. That makes it a useful starting point when a straightforward vinyl replacement is the goal, but the exact configuration still has to fit the opening.

The Premium V-4500 takes a different approach within vinyl: JELD-WEN describes thermally efficient frames, Low-E insulating glass, a wider frame and sash profile, and optional even sight lines. Siteline adds a wood-and-clad option with AuraLast pine and a clad exterior. Compare actual samples, jamb depth, visible glass, interior finish, and exterior color before treating a series name as a complete specification. Seattle’s older homes often reward a room-by-room material decision rather than a single choice for every elevation.

Choose operation and geometry by room

JELD-WEN’s window catalog organizes choices by operating style, including double-hung, single-hung, awning, fixed, sliding, casement, bay, and bow. The series page determines which of those styles can be ordered together with a particular material, size range, grille pattern, screen, and finish. A casement can provide broad ventilation when its outward swing has clearance; an awning can be useful where a higher opening is preferred. Sliders can preserve space where a swinging sash would meet a walkway, counter, or deck.

Review operation at each opening instead of selecting every window from a single room photo. Check furniture, handle reach, screen removal, cleaning access, emergency egress, and the direction of prevailing weather. A bay or bow replacement may also require a separate conversation about support, roof or head details, and interior finish carpentry.
